Cookies & similar technologies

What WordWarren stores on your browser/device and how optional advertising and analytics choices work.

Essential technologies

WordWarren uses technologies that are necessary to provide the service, such as session/security cookies, CSRF protection, authentication state and local storage used to remember basic interface preferences such as light/dark appearance. Essential technologies do not require an optional advertising consent choice.

Analytics

If optional analytics is introduced, it may help us understand aggregate use, faults, performance and which parts of WordWarren are useful. Where the technology requires consent under UK privacy rules, it will remain off until you choose to allow it.

Advertising

Free WordWarren may show advertisements. Technologies used to select, measure, track or profile advertising are non-essential and will not be activated until the required consent is obtained. Contextual advertising may be used where it allows a less intrusive approach.

Your choices

You can choose Essential only or Allow optional when the cookie panel is shown. You can change the choice later using . Refusing optional technologies must not prevent normal paid/core gameplay.

Children

Privacy-protective settings apply where required for children. We do not rely on a child's accidental interaction with a cookie banner as permission for inappropriate behavioural advertising.

Browser/device controls

You can also clear cookies/storage through your browser or device settings. Clearing storage may sign you out, reset preferences or cause the cookie panel to appear again.

Current provider list

The live provider list will be maintained here as integrations are enabled. Stripe may be used on its hosted payment pages; Apple/Google may process app purchases; advertising and analytics providers will be named here before their non-essential technologies are enabled in production.
